a greyscale kaleidoscope, 12 September 1999.

a greyscale kaleidoscope enables the hidden scheme lurking inside every
Kaleidoscope control panel, using very little disk space and memory to
do so. and it's _fast_. faster than any scheme supplied with
Kaleidoscope.

a greyscale kaleidoscope is an essential addition to your scheme
folder. with a greyscale kaleidoscope, you don't even need a scheme
folder.

a greyscale kaleidoscope is less than a 10K download.

glimmer for Kaleidoscope 2.1 and up is a grayscale scheme with purple
accents. It features rounded tabbed windows and silver gradients in several
expected and not so expected areas, combined with the subtle use of
textures. This scheme looks great with double scroll arrows and needs a
monitor setting at least 1000's of colors. As with many of my tabbed
schemes, glimmer allows for the easy stacking of open windows. Freeware.

Description:
This archive contains all the files and documentation necessary to develop
your own H2C plug-ins.

About H2C:
Every C++ programmer spends hours writing function declarations twice, once
in the header file (.h), once in the source file (.cp). H2C greatly simplify
this process. Just drag a header file, and H2C will automatically create the
corresponding source file, with all the declarations. H2C features a plug-in

HotFind is a server and file search utility for Hotline and is
distributed as $10,- (US) shareware. It can be used to search for
specific Hotline servers and for specific files on Hotline servers.
Hotfind will generate a list of Hotline servers by combining all
server lists from all known trackers. It automatically updates its own
internal list of Hotline trackers by periodically checking our Hotline
tracker database at www.tracker-tracker.com, so you will always have
access to the most up-to-date and complete server list without having
to search for Hotline trackers yourself ever again. HotFind's
powerful Boolean search allow you to search the description of Hotline
servers to find those Hotline servers that you are really interested
in. And with HotFind's file search it's possible to search for files

Subject: [*] Icon Machine 2.0.1J - Japanese version

This is the Japanese version of the Icon Machine package.

Since their introduction in System 7, custom icons have been a unique
and expressive way to personalize the look of your Mac. Icon Machine has
been designed to take advantage of other great features of the Mac OS to
give you the power to make the icons you want.

Now updated with new features for working with 32-bit icons, Icon
Machine is a great tool for creating icons for applications, customized
folders, eye-catching documents, and everything else.

"The Photoshop of icon editors!"
- Andrew Miller

"I think Icon Machine is tremendous."
- Brian Kelley, Apple Wizards

"Icon Machine has a way of making a little square of 1024 pixels feel
like an expansive painter's canvas."
- Eric Prentice, MacTips

2.0.1
- Fixed some selection and drawing problems that could cause garbage
to appear in the images.
- Fixed a bug where moving a selection partly offscreen, deselecting,
and undoing would result in a cut-off image in the selection.
- Clicking on the proxy icon and quickly dragging will now drag the
window, rather than doing nothing.
- Creating a small 4-bit or 8-bit icon also creates a small B&W icon
if it's not there, to hold the mask.
- Fixed the bucket tool for image-only mode in 32-bit icons.
- Fixed problems with selecting folders with Navigation Services. The
window had no title, and the Save Changes dialog didn't appear.
- Using a contextual menu to delete a 32-bit icon that wasn't active
didn't delete the mask.
- No more -43 errors when saving the icon of a disk.
- 32-bit icons previews are drawn dithered for displays that are not
set to millions of colors.

IconBuilder - Version 2.0.1 - October 1999

The Iconfactory is proud to announce an all new tool for creating and
constructing 32-bit icons for Mac OS 8.5 - IconBuilder. IconBuilder combines
the power and flexibility of Adobe Photoshop(tm) with the ease of use of
IconDropper to make a powerful icon creation tool for both beginner and
advanced users as well as professional software developers.

Written by veteran Photoshop filter author - Craig Hockenberry, IconBuilder
is the first "real world" solution for creating 32-bit icons for Mac OS 8.5.
Thanks to the use of layers (and their transparent properties), Photoshop
makes an ideal editor to create the blended shadows, smooth outlines and
translucent areas of 8.5 icons. Because it is a Photoshop plug-in filter,
IconBuilder has the ability to translate any kind of transparent effect done
in Photoshop layers, quickly and easily into the world of 32-bit icons for
Mac OS 8.5 and beyond.

"IconBuilder is the best tool a professional icon designer could ever hope
for. No more futzing around in a resource editor, just do all your work
where it's supposed to be done, Photoshop!" - Arlo Rose, co-creator of
Kaleidoscope

This release includes a small bug fix for users running Mac OS 9.

Subject: [*] Internet ToolKit for 4D (ITK) v2.0.3 update/demo

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

Here is version 2.0.3 of Internet ToolKit for 4D (best known as ITK).

Internet ToolKit is also available on it's FTP server at:

   ftp://ftp.internet-toolkit.com/pub/itk/

As usual, updated documentation can be found on ITK's Web server.

For general information about Internet ToolKit check ITK's homepage at:
   http://www.internet-toolkit.com/

What is Internet ToolKit for 4D ?
=================================
ITK is an 4D external package that provides full TCP and UDP support
directly inside 4D's language plus a lot of other useful routines to
encode/decode data into Internet standards (HTML, ISO, URL, etc)...

What can you do with Internet ToolKit ?
=======================================
In a few words, any kind of internet client or server application (email,
ftp, www, dns, gopher, news, etc) because ITK offers a low level access to
TCP/IP and UDP. ITK transforms 4D into real server, not just a CGI.

What are the main features of Internet ToolKit ?
================================================
ITK gives the developpers easy access to the following:

Subject: [*] Italian Spelling 1.2 - foreign language learning

'Italian Spelling' is a dictionary for the application 'V&N Lookup'. You
can use it to check spelling of the Italian texts and for an 'in-depth'
search of the 'Italian Nouns' and 'Italian Verbs' dictionaries. For example
searching for the word "sono" will find the verb "essere" because "sono"
is the first-person form of the verb "essere". To make a full use of the
'V&N Lookup' program you should download the modules 'Italian Verbs' and
'Italian Nouns'. 'Italian Verbs' contains the complete conjugation of more
than 1000 verbs including almost all irregular verbs. 'Italian Nouns'
contains inflection of more than 2000 nouns including about 500 examples of
the less-common ways of forming the plural. 'V&N Lookup' allows you to use
these modules simultaneously.

You can download the application 'V&N Lookup' and the modules 'Italian
Verbs', and 'Italian Nouns' from the Info-Mac mirror sites.

You can visit http://users.netmatters.co.uk/dandaforbes to find more
information and the download links.

Subject: [*] JollyGoodTables4 for 68K

Good table tools for the Macintosh are relatively rare.
JollyGoodTables is a the US localization of the Japanese word processor
RakuRakuKeisen which specializes in creating and editing tables.
To put it simply, with JollyGoodTables you create a table skeleton as you
would in a drawing application, and fill the cells of the table with text.
In contrast to a spreadsheet application, however, in JollyGoodTables cell
sizes and styles, as well as text styles, font, size, and horizontal or
vertical text justification, etc. are freely configurable. You can copy and
paste across multiple cells, set individual text margins for each cell, and
even nest cells or graphic objects and pictures created in JollyGoodTables
or other software inside cells.

One of JollyGoodTables' most exciting features is the option to adapt the
printing resolution to your printer's to achieve jaggy-free high quality
print-outs.

Since JollyGoodTables supports publish and subscribe you can use it to
include tables in documents of applications that do not provide a table
editing feature.

JollyGoodTables also handles data copied from spreadsheets or tab delimited
text.

If you are frequently dealing with tables, JollyGoodTables should come in
quite handy.

Kineticon brings your Mac's motionless icons to life!

Kineticon is a system extension which replaces normal, static icons
on your Macintosh's desktop and in its windows with chosen animated
icons.

Kineticon is fully configurable, allowing you to choose which icons
should animate simply by enabling them within Kineticon's editor.

Kineticon Editor (included in the Kineticon package) allows you to
create custom animations which can be made to appear in place of any
icon displayed by your Macintosh.

With Kineticon you will have THE COOLEST hard drive icon on your block!
With Kineticon you will have THE CUTEST trash can icon in your neighborhood!

easily make your own or download any of hundreds available at our web
site!

Changes in version 1.6.3 from 1.6.2:
* Fixed a bug in Kineticon Editor which could cause a system error
when saving a kine file
* Fixed a bug in Kineticon Editor which would cause pasted icons to
be rendered as invisible
* In Kineticon and Kineticon Editor, added improved checking for
corrupted kine files. Corrupted kine files would halt the entire
Kineticon loading process resulting in "Extension not loaded" errors
* Other minor bug fixes

System requirements:

Macs are supported).
* System 7.5 or higher.
* Color (doesn't work in grayscale or black and white, sorry).

MacTicker is a simple Internet application that lets you view
the free stock market information provided online by financial websites
around the world. You can watch any number of your stocks roll by on the
ticker, or call up a detailed report for each of your favorites.

MacTicker updates this information once a minute right on your desktop.
You can configure it to alert you to stocks that are doing particularly
well, or warn you to sell that stinker.

MacTicker gives you all the charms of the stock market, without the traders.

This version of MacTicker will operate in demo mode for 30 minutes, and
will unlock to the full unlimited application once a registration number
is entered.

To run MacTicker you need the following things:

- A PowerPC-based Macintosh computer.

- System 7.5 or better.

- Open Transport. Open Transport has been part of the Mac OS for a few years
now, but in its early days it was presented as an optional way of connecting
to the Internet. If you are running System 7.5, make sure you're running the
final version for that system, Open Transport 1.1.2. If you do not have this
version on your original installation disks, you can download it from
<http://asu.info.apple.com/swupdates.nsf/artnum/n10739>. More recent versions
of the Mac OS include Open Transport as the standard way of connecting to
the Internet. If you are running System 8 or later, you should already be
running Open Transport.

- 4 MB of application RAM
- Internet Config (or the Internet control panel under Mac OS 8.5 and later).
If you are not running Mac OS 8.5, it's likely that you already have Internet
Config installed on your computer, since almost every Internet application
includes it as part of its installation. You can also download the latest
version from <ftp://ftp.stairways.com/stairways/internetconfig-20.sit.bin>.

- A connection to the Internet. MacTicker supports modem or direct
network connections.

When you first install MacTicker, it is configured to run in demonstration
mode until purchased. You may purchase MacTicker from Aladdin's Online Store,
or obtain a serial number from our Customer Service Department at
sales@aladdinsys.com or 831-761-6200.

platform, and is ideal for small to medium-sized projects. It is supplied
as full open source code, so all programmers should find something useful
in it.

Users of MacZoop 1.x will find themselves right at home in MacZoop 2.0, but
with hundreds of improvements and an even simpler architecture. This is the
most bug-free MacZoop ever released to date, and is utterly rock solid.

Net '99 Short Read Me

Net '99 Net '99 was a great success!! I had an original goal of getting
new designersØ levels in a new and playable set. It soon evolved into a
contest which brought out some of AvaraØs best designers. Together with
the experienced designers and the up-and-coming designers the final set
far exceeded my main goal. Thanks to all the participants and those of
you who downloaded Net '99 =).
