Notes:

Frotz is a z-machine interpreter. It is a simple virtual machine invented
by Infocom, Inc. in 1978 to allow cross-platform adventure games. The
form thrives today in the interactive fiction newsgroups rec.games.int-fiction
and rec.arts.int-fiction.

Games to play with frotz can be found at the interactive fiction archive,
which is at ftp://ftp.gmd.de/ . A web-accessible version can be found
at http://bang.ml.org/if-archive/ .

There is also a compiler for z-machine games available, called Inform.
.
